ORGAN-IZING WEEDS
Thu, May 28

A clever twist on words and a serious commitment to groove, Organ-izing Weeds brings together tenor saxophonist Cory Weeds’ deep love of classic organ jazz with a hard-swinging, modern edge.
Rooted in the soulful tradition of the great organ combos of the ’50s and ’60s, this band delivers greasy shuffle, blues-drenched ballads, and burning swing — the way it’s meant to be played: raw, tight, and full of heart. At the center is tenor saxophonist Cory Weeds, whose big, warm sound and straight-ahead approach drive the band with authority and taste. He’s joined by: Nick Peck – organ, Dave Sikula – guitar and Jesse Cahill – drums
Together, they lock into that unmistakable organ trio chemistry — deep pocket, rich harmony, and the kind of momentum that builds set after set.
This isn’t background jazz. It’s toe-tapping, head-nodding, soul-stirring music built on groove and tradition.
