PATRICK KAO SEXTET

Leader and guitarist Patrick Kao debuts a new sextet featuring original arrangements of jazz standards alongside his own compositions. Inspired by his friend and mentor Chris Byars during his time in New York, the music blends the rich, velvety sound of a three-horn front line with the intimacy of an acoustic guitar trio. Rooted in the bebop tradition while embracing a playful, forward-looking spirit, the ensemble features Tamas Balai on alto saxophone, Connor Lum on tenor saxophone, Cam Henderson on trombone, Jesse Cahill on drums, and David Caballero on bass.
