Tonight, pianist Miles Black and pedal steel player Scott Smith will team up to explore the jazzier side of steel guitar music. Normally associated with classic country, the pedal steel guitar has actually been featured in all kinds of music since its invention in the 1950’s, something that Smith has shown in his monthly Adventures in Pedal Steel shows. Pianist Miles Black has over 4 decades of professional experience as a jazz artist, having performed and recorded with many legendary jazz greats. Scott Smith has been one of the key players (on guitar, dobro and steel) in Vancouver's blues and roots scenes for a couple of decades playing with such artists as Barney Bentall, Terminal Station and Rich Hope.
