Celebrating 5 years of enriching Vancouver audiences by showcasing, empowering and inspiring the female jazz community! Founded in 2019 by director Christian Morrison - the first of its kind in Canada - Sister Jazz Orchestra is a powerhouse 18-woman professional jazz ensemble showcasing Vancouver’s most accomplished female jazz artists. Our 5th anniversary party at Frankie’s will be a straight-ahead instrumental and vocal jazz celebration with a primary focus on the rich repertoire of women writers from the past 9 decades as well as emerging contemporary voices like Jodi Proznick and guest vocalist/composer Shruti Ramani.
