Arvind Ramdas is a jazz drummer and composer, and a graduate of Capilano University, currently based in Vancouver, Canada. He has quickly established himself as one of the city’s most in-demand and consistently busy drummers. For this performance, Ramdas is joined by longtime collaborator and JUNO Award–nominated composer and pianist Noah Franche Nolan, alongside David Caballero, a standout and formidable bassist who has been a trusted companion on the bandstand for years. Together, the trio presents a hard-hitting, swinging program of piano trio arrangements drawn from the music of Bud Powell, Ahmad Jamal, and Cedar Walton—three artists whose work has profoundly shaped Ramdas’s rhythmic concept, melodic sensibility, and driving approach behind the drums. Audiences can expect thrilling arrangements, deep swing, and high-energy trio interplay throughout the evening.
