Under the visionary direction of Karla Mundy, a dynamic choral conductor and multi-instrumentalist whose passion for harmony singing has shaped Vancouver’s vibrant music scene through ensembles like the City Soul Choir, Harmony Mountain Singers, and Rhythm ‘n’ Roots, acclaimed vocalists Dawn Pemberton and Jennifer Scott unite in a soul-stirring seasonal collaboration. Pemberton, a powerhouse of gospel, soul, jazz, and funk with roots in her family’s multi-instrumental legacy and a B.Mus. in Jazz Studies from Capilano University, brings her infectious energy and “go ‘head!” spirit—honed as founder of the Roots ‘N’ Wings Women’s Choir and collaborator with legends like Maceo Parker—to every performance. Alongside her, Scott, Vancouver’s foremost jazz improviser and pianist, infuses the mix with her warm contralto depth and global flair, drawing from sold-out stages across North America and Europe, partnerships with icons like Clark Terry and Kenny Wheeler, and a repertoire spanning blues, world music, and innovative standards. Together, guided by Mundy’s light-filled leadership, this trio weaves connection, emotional intelligence, and rhythmic fire into performances that uplift, groove, and open hearts.
