DAVE ROBBINS SEXTET

Drummer Dave Robbins returns to Frankie’s Jazz Club with his all-star sextet. This three-night run will feature and inspired program of all-new original compositions written during his sabbatical from teaching at Capilano University. The band will hard into the studio immediately following this purge gigs. The lineup includes Chris Gestrin on piano, Steve Holy on bass, Brad Turner on trumpet, Cory Weeds on alto saxophone, and Mike Allen on tenor saxophone. Together, this formidable ensemble brings Robbins’s fresh compositions to life with clarity, drive, and deep musical trust, capturing the bandleader’s evolution as a composer while reaffirming his place at the center of Vancouver’s jazz community.
